Distribution Manager

The selected individual will oversee the Hampstead and Havre De Grace Distribution Centers

Responsible for managing the operational and administrative tasks as they relate to the Distribution Center including shipping, receiving, production put away, inventory control, annual budgets, and data entry functions. Must ensure company policies are followed and performance standards are met through effective communication, coaching, and progressive disciplinary action when applicable.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Coordinate daily shift assignments to ensure schedules are met at or below anticipated labor costs.
  • Effectively communicating shift and departmental objectives to employees
  • Maintain positive customer service relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Audit daily/weekly/monthly labor and ensure costs are controlled.
  • Interact successfully with plant and Distribution Center employees in order to facilitate departmental goals and corporate objectives
  • Recommend, initiate, and manage change which will enhance performance, reduce costs, foster employee development, and promote workplace safety for all employees.
  • Maintain product quality, safety and legality.

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of staff
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and kept well informed on procedural revisions on a timely basis.
  • Make recommendations regarding staffing decisions
  • Maintain employee development, discipline, performance appraisals and administering policies
  • Maintain an open door relationship with all employees in order to ensure ideas/issues are effectively communicated while promoting a supportive working atmosphere

Core Skills and Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Three (3) years supervisory experience required with strong leadership and management skills in a high volume distribution center
    • SAP experience
    • Experience with Warehouse Management System
    • Experience with Best Management System
    • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
    • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
    • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes, procedures, and decisions
    • Proven analytical problem solver
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Ability to communicate on a frequent basis with personnel at all levels of the organization
    • Ability to be composed and adaptive in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver s license
    • Up to 5% domestic travel
    • Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire

    • Ability to work additional work hours including weekends and holidays as required

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor s Degree
    • Five (5) years supervisory experience required with strong leadership and management skills in a high volume distribution center

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
