Deburring Technician 2nd Shift

PRIMUS AEROSPACE Position duties:
Set up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal per customer requirements.
Duties and tasks are varied but standardized.
Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITES o Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools.
o Verify quality of finished workpieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions, or testing them in working machinery.
o Move controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during grinding and polishing processes.
o Remove completed workpieces from equipment or work tables, using hand tools, and place workpieces in containers.
o Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.
o Transfer equipment, objects, or parts to specified work areas, using moving devices.
o Trim, scrape, or deburr objects or parts, using chisels, scrapers, and other hand tools and equipment.
o Tumble parts as needed per customer requirements.
o Repair and maintain equipment, objects, or parts, using hand tools.
o File grooved, contoured, and irregular surfaces of metal objects, such as metalworking dies and machine parts, to conform to templates, other parts, layouts, or blueprint specifications.
o Mark defects, such as knotholes, cracks, and splits, for repair.
o Study blueprints or layouts to determine how to lay out workpieces or saw out templates.
o Sharpen abrasive grinding tools, using machines and hand tools.
o Load and adjust workpieces onto equipment or work tables, using hand tools.
o Record product and processing data on specified forms.
o Select files or other abrasives, according to materials, sizes and shapes of workpieces, amount of stock to be removed, finishes specified, and steps in finishing processes.
o Apply solutions and chemicals to equipment, objects, or parts, using hand tools.
o Ensure a consistent process is followed that maintains 100%-part quality.
o Check parts to ensure all operations have been completed properly.
o Clean downdraft tables and floors daily.
Maintain an organized work station.
o Performs other duties as needed.

30 AM (4-11s)KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES o The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
o Ability to use hand tools including deburring blades, scraper handles, dremels, rotary brushes, sanders and grinders.
o The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
o The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
o The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while standing.
o The ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object or scene.
o Knows and follows all safety requirements and policies.
o Ability to work shift work, including overtime on short notice.
o Ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floors.
o The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
o The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
o The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
o The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
